Fun and games included a casino, live music and caricaturist – all of which helped raise £15,317.60 for three charities: The School of Cancer Studies at Birmingham University, The Nottingham University Hospitals Charity (Oncology Unit) and Treetops Hospice.
A big boost to the fundraising pot came thanks to an auction of dazzling prizes, including autographed memorabilia, balloon rides and even a modern version of the popular 1970’s Raleigh Chopper bicycle. Auction master and Columbus colleague, Lee Dufty, kept the audience entertained during the bidding, while doing a brilliant job at getting people to dig deep into their pockets.
The event was organised by Columbus managing director, Mary Hunter with help and contributions from colleagues, friends, family and long-standing suppliers.
In response to this fantastic achievement, Mary Hunter adds: “Together we have made a huge difference to three very worthy cancer charities. I’d like to thank everyone who supported, contributed, helped or attended, ensuring this event was such a great success.”
